First, can you tell us who are you and how did you start to draw ?

Robinson, a graphic designer within the co-operate ' tous les anges ' With regard to drawing... I stem from a familly of graphic designers, on my father's side and I thought that I missed out. A dreamy and logical start with a scientific baccalauréat, a bachelor's degree in precise things and "fake" calculation, then I discovered calligraphy and I started to study typography and graphism.

Now talk about your works : who exactly is Akiza ?

A little doll in black and white, with whom I enjoy myself.
She has always the same face and many different bodies.
Those are her echos, her variants, her desires, her sisters... She's a little dark icon, a little fetish, with a Japan cute streak, kawai in a very mechanical, inhuman and industrial world.

I work from photographies, component wires, machines, pieces of toys, reportings in stations, aerials on roofs, lampposts in order to create Akiza.

She is at once inexpressive and expressive, asexual and erotic, black and white, cute and caustic, similar and different, fixed and changeable, constrained and free, modern and ancient, clinical and off-color.

How did this character take shape your mind ?

Hidden into myself, she came back from Tokyo and in last autumn, she appeared for the first time.
Now, I must live with her.

What are your main inspirations when you draw ?

Calligraphy and typography, Hello Kitty, fantastic and dark world, sacred art, games of constraints and suspension, body modifications, style of propaganda...

You collaborate many times around Akiza ; how were these last Akiza "drawn" and what are those you are proud of ?

There are some special Akiza. The first was for the pleasant Loulady, she is at the origin of special Akiza. I created an other for New wave, a punk fanzine, one for the model, Goth Marilyne who translated this site in English, and the fourth was for your webzine.

The person describes me his ideal Akiza with his words, what he would like. I ask him for comparisons with music, movies, a photographer's work or an ambiant. And I try to combine all his desires with my mood of the moment and new elements at my disposal in order to create this Akiza. It's an exchange between person's realm and mine. Akiza is a little polymorphic and changeable creature who is going to enter into the model's world and staying herself.

For the time being, I'm satisfied of every special Akiza, but the first this of Loulady is significant for me and set the bar enough high. In the same way, there is a section 'fan-art' on the web site, where drawers or authors propose me their view of Akiza. They get hold of her, sometimes in colors... and they enrich her realm.

Akiza is essentially a changeable creature, an archetype who can take many appearances...

Do you carry out projects in parallel with Akiza ?

Yes, also... I still go on my graphic work, mainly in cultural and musical domains. Posters, logos, dummy books, lettering for the French label Prikosnovénie and some other developments. But I admit that I give Akiza a great part of my time. She is going to celebrate her first birthday and she asks me for a great attention.

Can you present us the co-operate "tous les anges," in which you form part ?
